ATHERTON Colls won games in The Hallmark Security League Premier Division and The Buildbase FA Vase, to take their unbeaten run to seven.

Michael Clegg’s team were awesome in the first half of the 3-0 league encounter at West Didsbury & Chorlton.

Gareth Peet opened his campaign account with an early free kick, then Darrhyl Mason was dropped in the box and Dave Sherlock sent the West keeper the wrong way.

Sherlock’s clever dummy allowed Brad Cooke space and he finished from the edge of the box.

Colls marched into the second round of the FA Vase with a magnificent 5-0 triumph over Jarrow Roofing BCA.

Mark Battersby opened the scoring with a dink over the keeper and Vinny Bailey doubled the lead after Ben Hardcastle’s cross had been parried into his path.  Battersby scored his second, and 14th of the season, just after the interval.

Bailey headed his second with five minutes remaining before Justin Pickering put the gloss on a fine display, smashing in a volley.

On Saturday the defence of The Macron Cup commences at Sandbach United, kick off 1.30pm.
