AT the recent Greater Manchester Autumn Meet the swimmers from Tyldesley Swimming and Water Polo Club were in action.

Three of the girls all achieved Lancashire County WPSA qualifying times for their competition in February.

Events came fast and furious for all the swimmers and there were some fantastic results with 15-year-old Imogen Bailey taking the Gold Medal in the 100m Freestyle,100m Butterfly, 200m Butterfly and Silver Medals in the 200m IM; 400 IM; 200m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly.

Teammate Jodie Gittins (14 years) also achieved medals – Gold in the 200m Freestyle; Silver in the 100m Freestyle and 3rd place in the 100m Butterfly, 200m Butterfly and 50m Butterfly in personal best times.

In the 12 year age group the club had swimmers Rachel Hornby and Daisy Poole competing.

Rachel was competing in 8 events over the 2 weekends and achieved 3rd place in the 200m Butterfly as well as making finalist placings in all her other events (all in personal best times).

Daisy meanwhile had 10 events and achieved personal best times in all her events.

In the 11 year age group the club had three swimmers competing – Madeleine Bailey, Jacob White and Luke Warburton. Madeleine achieved 2nd places in the 100m Breaststroke; 100m Butterfly and 3rd place in the 200m Breaststroke.

Madeleine also achieved finalist placings and personal best times in her other events.

The boys also swam well with Luke achieving personal best times in his two events and Jacob achieving sixth place in the 100m Butterfly and personal best times in the three remaining events.

Madason Lawley was competing in the 10 year age group and achieved 6th place in 50m Butterfly and personal best times in all her other events.

There were also personal best times from Mai Deef, Minnah Deef and William Hornby.
