TYLDESLEY produced their best 80 minute performance of the season, and came away with a brilliant bonus point 30-0 win over second placed Dukinfield who had only previously lost one game all season, away at league leaders Liverpool Collegiate.

The vast majority of the game was played in the hosts half, mainly due to Bongs excellent game management and support, but more pleasing was the tenacious and disciplined defence, that repelled all that was thrown at them, plus, won possession back several times, in the process, which frustrated the opposition as the game went on.

Despite all, Tyldesley only led by eight at the break, mainly due to a good home defence. Paul Martin dissected the posts in the tenth minute, with a penalty kick after narrowly missing a previous attempt.

Although controlling matters more points didn’t materialise until midway through the half.

From a lineout Andy McEntee went close, before a quick recycle, had Matt Soulsby ship the ball to Mark Dickinson, who crossed for a good five pointer.

Bongs started the second period as the had finished the first, pinning their opponents back, via some quality and controlled rugby.

Zak Sargent ran over the opposition fullback, for a good try, which came on the back of some excellent pick and drives.

A superb Crossfield kick by Dickinson was brilliantly gathered in the air, by Harry Hutton, who then stepped and dummied before powering his way over, giving Bongs an 18-point lead by the 55th minute. Both conversions missed.

Dukinfield had a good spell, and came hard at the Tyldesley defence, but had no joy, resulting in frustrations getting the better of them, giving the match official, no option, but to show a red card, for punching.

With just 10 left, and field down to fourteen, Hutton took advantage of a mix up in the hosts defence, before crossing for his second and a fourth bonus point try, Martin added the two.

Good interplay between backs and forwards, had Jake Dyson make a good break, before the prop, gave Lee Davies a great pass, who finished off the move, with a try in the corner.
