DESPITE a spirited effort, Leigh were powerless to resist the attack of third-placed Northwich on Saturday.
Poor tackling let Northwich through for their first converted try after eight minutes and they added a penalty to extend their lead to ten points on twenty minutes.
Another converted try took the sides off at half time with Northwich leading 17-0.
Leigh played well in the second half and for had the better of the exchanges and the territory for long periods.
Northwich, however, are a class act and took their opportunities when they were on offer and added four tries, three of which were converted before the final whistle.
Leigh wrap up their season on Saturday, April 22, when they make the long trip to Whitehaven to face St Benedicts, kick off 3pm.
