Vagabonds 5 Tyldesley 51

TYLDESLEY secured the South Lancs/Cheshire Division Two title with a convincing victory on the Isle of Man.

In an entertaining contest, Ashley Worsfold finished off some superb pick and drives for the game's first try before quick thinking from a tapped penalty saw Zack Sargent go over from 25 metres out. Paul Martin converted both tries.

Good support play allowed Tyldesley to record another 3 tries before half time through Lee Davies, Mark Dickinson and Danny Berrisford, giving the visitors an all-important bonus point To their credit, Vagabonds started the second period the better side and recorded a good try.

With the game approaching the hour mark, Bongs started to turn the screw on a tiring home defence, which resulted in another four tries.

Michael Barret, his first ever career try, Jack Kirkpatrick, Davies and Matt Soulsby all touched down to secure the title for Bongs.

Tyldesley now turn their attention to the Lancashire Plate and Saturday sees them entertain Littleborough, who play at a higher level, for a place in the final, kick off 3pm.
