LEIGH Miners Rangers lost narrowly to high-flying Wath Brow in a tight contest at Twist Lane, 14-10 the final outcome as the Cumbrians hung on for victory.
The first team now have a run of pivotal fixtures against teams around them in the standings, starting with the derby trip to Wigan St Patricks on Saturday 2.30pm.
They will hope to emulate the under-18s who won their derby game at Clarington Park 28-16 on Sunday with tries for Lewis Clarke 2, Will Ashworth 2 and Owen Johnson, Jack Gatcliffe with five goals.
