ASTLEY & Tyldesley visited Bury on Sunday for Round 1 of the Northern Fours League.

In a very close match, A&T beat Bury by a single point, with Hull in third place and Stockport non starters. All four A&T riders scored well in the match.

A&T's Reece Pollitt impressed for the North & Scotland team in the 3rd Battle of Britain match at Ipswich on Sunday. Reece scored 13 points,

plus two bonus, as the North & Scotland team lost 118-82 to the South East and East team, who remain top of the table.

A&T's John White took a fine third place in the u-12 Dash Trophies Individual at Wednesfield on Saturday. Max Evans was injured in the u-16 event and that ruled him out of the North & Scotland junior team on Sunday.

Astley & Tyldesley staged Round 3 of the A&T Go-Ride Grand Prix series at a warm and sunny Gin Pit on Tuesday evening. There was a record turn out of 30 riders, which saw the riders split into two groups, run as separate matches.

As ever, riders were handicapped by the club's coaches, according to age, ability and experience. Young Rhys Rhind won the 'A' match, after scoring 14 points.

There was a four rider run-off for the minor placings, which saw Frank White head home Charlie Burgess, to secure second and third places.

In the 'B' match, Raife Rhind scored a 16 points maximum, to make it a family double.

In a run-off for second place, Oscar Belt overhauled Myles Grantham on the line.

At the end of 32 entertaining races, all riders were presented with a certificate and wrist band, with medals for the top three riders in each match.
