TYLDESLEY did more than enough to take this game, but a mixture of poor handling and decision making and a bit of bad luck, had them come away with nothing.

All started well with Bongs attacking their opponents, which kept them pegged back, and crossed the line after just ten minutes.

Anselmians won a scrum fifteen meters from their line, but a fantastic effort from the Tyldesley pack, pushed them off the ball, resulting in Mark Dickinson going over, after receiving a great ball from Matt Soulsby, conversion missed.

Tyldesley went close on another two occasions, but failed to add points, mainly due too bad luck

Anselmians pulled three points back on the half hour then took the lead minutes later after recording a converted try.

With the half all but done; the hosts broke free, but a fantastic tackle from Paul Martin saved a certain try. Half time 10-5

Anselmians recorded the first points of the second period via the boot, taking them eight clear, but then the visitors took control for the next twenty.

Finally the Tyldesley pressure paid off, after Jack Kirkpatrick rounded two defenders and touched down, for a great try, pulling Bongs back to within three points, conversion missed.

Anselmians added three more via the boot, then recorded their second seven pointer almost immediately

Tyldesley continued too created several chances, but just couldn’t apply the finishing touch.

MOM Mark Dickinson.

Next week Tyldesley host Southport 3pm kick-off.
