HUNSLET Warriors scored three tries in each half to send relegation haunted Leigh East to a 32-22 home defeat.

This latest loss is the 11th in succession and games are running out to preserve their Division Two status.

The hosts who took the lead after 90 seconds when Jake Beaumont leapt highest to claim an astute kick from Harvey Massey.

Warriors responded when Nathan Clapham scored the first of his hat-trick after 13 minutes and led five minutes later when Matt Scott broke and then supported to score his first try. Halfback Daryl Gaunt kicked the first of four goals.

Hunslet scored their third try after 26 minutes with Liam Brown scooting over from dummy half to lead 16-4 at the break.

The hosts made another rapid start and were quickly rewarded through Andrew Ball. Adam Holland goaled.

Clapham scored for Hunslet and when Tom Worthington was sin-binned for punching, victory looked unlikely.

Within a couple of minutes of the yellow-card, Clapham roared over for his third try with Gaunt completing his goal tally.

Leigh East flew into full attack mode with Ball grabbing a sparkling second try after a four-pass play before Matt Scott intercepted from halfway to secure the game for Hunslet.

East continued to battle with Aaron Noon denied a try before fellow debutant Marcus Mercer crowned an excellent debut with the final score and Adam Holland struck his third goal.
