Atherton's double joy

ATHERTON CC U11s have won double honours in the Bolton & District Cricket Association.

The junior cricketers have won the league championship "The John Rossall Memorial Shield" and the knockout trophy "The Standish Trophy. "

Their first victory came at the knockout final away against Daisy Hill in a close fought game, ending with Atherton victorious with 259 runs against Daisy Hill's 236.

Winning the league, the championship went down to the last game of the season against Golborne U11's. By winning the last game Atherton won the championship by two clear points, losing only one game in the whole season.
