AS the only English team in a Welsh tournament, Tyldesley under 16s rugby union side completed a great season with a skilful and very gutsy display carrying them to the semi finals.
Reaching the semi finals was fantastic, but injuries sadly caught up with them.
As they faced the favourites, Mold, Tyldesley lost three players to injury early on, with two more bravely carrying on, which caused massive disruptions but still they managed to give them their toughest test despite going down 15-0.
In the previous rounds they lost to Llandudno 0-5 but beat Bangor 5-0 with a great Murray try after Paine put in an excellent cross field kick.
A fantastic 15-5 win over a strong Denbigh side got them into the semis, after two brilliant individual tries from Tom Lloyd and another very good try from Mathew Guest late on.
Top backs tackler was Matthew Guest, forwards Nathan Rushton.
Best backs players were Jacob Browning and Matthew Guest, forwards Tom Lloyd and Jack Weaver.
