LEIGH Miners Rangers under nines travelled to face St Helens side Thatto Heath Crusaders who were one of the league's in form teams.
However, the young Leigh side were keen to demonstrate their own strengths and the forwards dominated the opposition from the start in a 36-8 victory.
Will Lynch opened Miners’ scoring.
Some great team handling moves as well as some fine individual efforts saw the Miners run in a further five, first half tries from Harry Darby, Dan Goddard and a hat-trick from player of the match Josh Waterworth.
Miners proceeded to run in further tries from Cian Tyrer and Darby completed his hat-trick.
