LEIGH East are preparing for the National Conference League Grand Final after defeating reigning champions Siddall in the semi finals.
Despite trailing after just four minutes, Leigh showed their mettle and fought back to record a famous 30-22 victory over one of the competition’s strongest teams.
Adam Holland dragged the home side back into contention with a well-worked try and Kevin Murphy put East ahead after 13 minutes.
Tries from Peters and Middlehurst followed, giving East a 24-6 lead at the interval.
Battling in their own half for the majority of the second period, Leigh added another try through Ryan Fieldhouse as Siddall piled on pressure of their own, scoring three tries to bring the scores within eight.
But Leigh’s defence held on to put East into their second cup final of the season.
