TYLDESLEY travelled to Chorlton to play a team that put 56 points on them last season, and came away with a very good win.
The victory was achieved despite only having 15 players, as nine players were unavailable due to injury and other commitments.
The visitors conceded a converted try after only four minutes but Tyldesley tightened up and only conceded again shortly before half time while Wallbank was in the sin bin.
Some excellent handling from the Tyldesley backs paid off with four tries in the second half.
Quick thinking from Wallbank saw him tap and go, with Lloyd drawing the defence, then pass to Peter Gaskell, who stepped the defender to go over for a good try in the 50th minute.
Tom Lloyd crossed for an excellent individual try four minutes later after some good forward drives.
Every player was involved in the next score, as the ball was shipped from right to left with forwards Norton and Schofield combining well for winger Deacon Monks to put the finishing touch to the try of the game in the 61st minute, putting Tyldesley in front for the first time, 15-12.
The game was made safe with just two minutes remaining. Good yards from Pollard, Mennell, Guest and Bourke once again had the visitors on the front foot. From the resulting ruck, debutant Jake Kelly emerged with the ball and powered his way over for another good score.
