FOR the second season in succession Tyldesley won at Ormskirk in the gloom.
Paine suffered an injury that resulted in him being airlifted to hospital, causing a 40 minute delay.
Thankfully there was no serious damage for Paine, who was discharged from Preston Infirmary in the early evening with orders to rest and recuperate.
Tyldesley put pressure on the Ormskirk line from the kick off.
From the platform of a solid scrum Mark Dickinson dummied through a static defence to score a try he converted himself.
A series of wayward kicks gave the home side chances to counter from deep and they crossed from one of the chances.
It was important for Bongs to score first in the second period and with the hosts giving away a couple of penalties Tyldesley made the easy yards tell, leading to Andy Dickinson crossing. His brother Mark converted from the touchline for a seven-point lead.
Just before the final quarter Bongs crossed for the decisive score.
Bongs made Ormskirk pay for giving away penalties and the pressure eventually told when an overlap was created and Andy Dickinson’s pass found Chris Corbett at pace and he crossed in the corner.
With five minutes to go a chip through from the base of the ruck led to Williams touching down the final converted score to seal Bongs a second successive bonus point win.
A great all-round team performance with the pack controlling the game throughout.
On Saturday, Tyldesley entertain struggling Warrington, a team at the foot of the table who had a great result getting closer to the free-scoring Sale than any other team so far this season and should not be underestimated.
