FABRICE Muamba can step up another level next season with Wanderers, according to Owen Coyle.
The combative midfielder made giant strides in his second campaign at the Reebok, even earning the vote for player of the year from readers of The Bolton News.
But his manager says there is much more to come from the former Birmingham City enforcer, who he reckons is capable of fulfilling his senior international ambitions.
“I have absolutely loved working with Fab since I have been at the club,” he said.
“He’s already an England Under-21 international, and has a lot of experience at that level of football.
“His strength and size is there for all to see, as is his ability to tackle and chase in the middle of the park. There is always a call for that kind of player.
“The exciting thing from my point of view, though, is that there is a lot more to come from him.”
Muamba struggled for confidence in his first season under Gary Megson at the Reebok before bouncing back last term to become one of the most consistent members of the squad.
He showed particular improvement after the arrival of Coyle in January, but the manager was quick to pass on all the credit to his young midfielder.
“As with any young players, you can only give them so much and then once they get out there on the pitch they have to do it themselves.
“You can give them the confidence, some advice, but ultimately it’s down to them.”
