A FORMER Leigh Centurions coach has died.
A one-minute silence was held for 93-year-old Joe Egan as well as Remembrance Day prior to Sunday’s international showdown between England and France at Salford City Stadium.
The two-times tourist made his name as a Wigan, Lancashire, England and Great Britain hooker, clocking up 407 games between 1938 and 1950 before becoming player-coach with Leigh.
Spells with Wigan and Widnes then preceded a stint at Warrington.
