PAUL Rowley says he has been happy with Leigh Centurions' defence over the past three games.

The team have conceded only 22 points in 240 minutes of action.

He said: “We have handed quite a lot of possession over to our opposition during a few games, so to defend the way we have been is fantastic.

"Everyone is finding their feet but we are scoring some really good tries and we’ve put a run of three together with some fantastic results.

“We’ve got lots to be positive about while also understanding that when the bigger teams come in we need to be more clinical.”

Leigh travel to Keighley on Sunday, kick off 3pm, and after John O’Donnell and Ryan Duffy made debuts in the win against Doncaster at the weekend, Rowley was keen to point out: “Fresh blood has added extra enthusiasm.

“They got the chance and they will get another chance. It’s a good healthy pressure, which coaches speak about regularly, although I’d love nothing better than to have 17 players making it impossible for me to drop them week in, week out.”

Mat Gardner returns from his ban this week and both Michael Ostick and Jimmy Taylor are available for selection.
