LEIGH Centurions say their new 2014 partnership with the UK's largest motor dealer group Evans Halshaw is a clear statement of intent.

Centurions director Andy Mazey said: “On behalf of everyone at the club I’m delighted to welcome Evans Halshaw, the UK's largest motor dealer and a 'major national brand', as an official club partner for the 2014 season.

"This is a partnership that not only gives a significant financial injection to the club but more importantly in my opinion highlights the fact that major brands can now see real value and commercial benefits from being associated with our brand.

"Make no mistake this is a tremendous boost to our aspirations and I would like to say a big thank you to Neil Bassett and everyone at Evans Halshaw for their support.

"I’d also like to make a special mention for Rob Parker, our commercial manager, who has driven this deal and worked tirelessly with Evans Halshaw to deliver this commercial project.”

Parker added: "With the work that is being done behind the scenes both on and off the field at the club, it is a really exciting time for the town of Leigh and we can't wait to get the season underway.

"I have been working tirelessly throughout the close season to attract new businesses and to have a company like Evans Halshaw to go along with the likes of O2 Leigh really outlines our intentions for Super League. ''

Neil Bassett, a senior representative of Evans Halshaw Vauxhall Wigan said: "Vauxhall Motors Europe have a strong connection with sports sponsorship especially with Home Nations football and we believe with the support of Vauxhall Europe we have made the right choice supporting a fantastic local community club like the Leigh Centurions."
