LEIGH Centurions' 2014 Kingstone Press Championship season kicks off this Sunday as Paul Rowley’s men take on last year's Grand Finalists Batley Bulldogs at Leigh Sports Village.

Centurions’ new-look side have produced some great performances over the close season against Super League rivals Wigan Warriors, Warrington Wolves, and Salford Red Devils.

Now all that hard work of pre-season is put to the test, and what a fitting coincidence it is that Leigh's first game of 2014 is a rematch of their last in 2013.

Rowley said: "We're all really excited to get the 2014 season underway. The boys are really up for this game, and I'd like to encourage as many spectators as possible to come down to Leigh Sports Village and cheer us on."

From Sunday, the 14 Kingstone Press Championship clubs will battle it out over 26 rounds to secure the top-nine finish they need to retain their place in the Championship.

Eight of the top-nine clubs will then go in to a play-off series culminating in a title-deciding Grand Final.

The five clubs finishing the season in 10th to 14th positions will be relegated into Championship One.

Anybody who has yet to collect their season ticket are advised to do so before Sunday's match, wherever possible.
