FOLLOWING on from the Centurions' great performance against Featherstone in the Tetley's Challenge Cup, the two sides lock horns once more this weekend in the Kingstone Press Championship.

The action takes place on Sunday, 3pm at the Big Fellas Stadium, Featherstone, and after the tremendous support shown in the cup, Leigh Centurions Sponsor Park Leisure have very kindly laid on four free spectator coaches.

In addition to that, if all four coaches are filled, SR Waite Electrical Contractors have pledged to provide two more.

LISA members and Season Ticket Holders will have priority on seat bookings up until close of play Tuesday, after which time seats will be released for general take up.

Football Director Derek Beaumont commented: "Park Leisure are our official travel sponsor and I was delighted to take the call from them to offer to sponsor four coaches for our fans to Featherstone. They were so overwhelmed by the turnout and vocal support of our fans that they wanted to offer support to help that continue when we play Featherstone again this weekend.

"They were delighted to see the flags being waved around the stadium and the sky dancers creating an atmosphere outside and inside the ground. Our fans were the 18th man there is no doubt about that and the view from where I sat of the sea of red and white was inspiring.

"It is one thing for a player to achieve for himself and another to achieve for his team but when you see that it matters to 3000 local people that really does lift them. I cannot thank our fans enough for the support they have shown Paul and the lads."

Andy Mazey of SR Waite Electrical Contractors said: “After a fantastic turn out and most satisfying result yesterday in the Challenge Cup, it was once again evident our magnificent supporters really do have the ability to lift the team and create a unique atmosphere. Home or away, no matter how near or far they never fail us and uphold the reputation of being the famous Leigh Centurions 18th man.

"Thanks to our official club partner Park Leisure we will have four coaches paid for which will effectively provide free transport for over two hundred of our most loyal supporters. Should this magnificent offer be taken up in full then on behalf of S R Waite Electrical Contractors Ltd we would make a further commitment to our fans by offering to fund a further two coaches subject to demand.

"It will be great to get over to Featherstone next Sunday en mass as following the welcome distraction of the Challenge Cup yesterday we now refocus on our Championship campaign. Thanks as always for your support it truly is inspiring”

Bookings for the coaches can be made at the Leigh Market retail outlet, on 07941 283027, although please note that the retail outlet is closed on Wednesdays. The coaches will depart the Leigh Sports Village at 12noon on Sunday.
