JOHN Roddy has resigned as chairman of Leigh Centurions.
He has also stepped down as a director.
A stement from Leigh Centurions reads: "Leigh Centurions would like to thank John Roddy who has today resigned from his role as chairman and director.
"The club would like to take this opportunity of wishing John well in the future and thank him for his contributions on the board.
"He was a very good figurehead, and earned respect from inside and outside the Leigh club for his authoritative and dignified approach to the role as chairman."
Roddy was appointed chairman last August.
He took on the interim role three months earlier following the introduction of a new board of management.
