A PROMISING young player has committed his immediate future to Leigh Centurions by signing an extended contract until November 2016.

Back row forward Jamie Tracey, 19, has impressed in Paul Anderson's free-scoring Reserves Team this season which has so far mirrored the first-team in remaining unbeaten in league games.

Tracey, who emerged won a BARLA Under-18s National Cup-winners medal with Thatto Heath Crusaders in 2012 was a star of the Crusaders' open age side in 2013 before linking up with the Centurions.

Tracey follows Reserve Team colleagues Lewis Foster, Chris Hankinson, Sam Baggaley, Frankie Halton and Sam Peet in signing an extended deal to the delight of Reserves Coach Paul Anderson.

"Jamie has got size and pace and is another long-term project," Anderson said.

"If everything falls into place we're looking at another player with the potential to become a first-team regular at Leigh Centurions, just like the other lads who we've recently signed on extended contracts. I'd like to thank Head of Rugby Derek Beaumont for working so hard to secure Jamie's signing.

"It shows the intentions of the Club, signing young talent through the Reserves. Jamie runs good lines, defends well, is aggressive and has all the traits you want in a back-rower."
