LEIGH Centurions begin their preparations for their 2015 season tomorrow, Friday.

Coaching staff returned to work earlier this week and tomorrow's season-introduction will lay out their expectations for the campaign.

“This has been three months in planning between myself and Neil Jukes," head coach Paul Rowley explained. “Through experience we know that people like to leave things to the last minute, so we have been making sure we get things right.

“There they will get their overview and will understand what’s being expected of them. We’ll also introduce new players and then from Monday we are back in and training.”

Centurions will thrash out the fine print on friendlies ahead of the new term in the coming weeks. Rowley is looking for his charges to play four games on successive weekends from January 18, while there is talk of a midweek game to aid Steve Maden’s testimonial.

“There is no point announcing things for them not to happen," he said. "That just makes you look silly. We will wait until everything is finalised and then we will announce them.”

“We also need late ones to look at players who have been injured because they will only be declared fit at that last minute.

“Myself, Neil Jukes and Derek Beaumont will be putting the finishing touches together in the next couple of days so by next week we will be able to announce a confirmed and clear calendar.”

Reviewing his current squad, Rowley added: “I think rugby has changed so much. If we’ve learned anything the players are very much individual and the days of everybody doing the same thing on the field and the same thing in the gym have gone.

“Our staff are ultra-professional and talented. It's about giving the guys autonomy and empowerment to do what they are good at.

"I will oversee and make sure that I’m happy with the way things are going because the physical side to preparation is equal to, if not more important, than anything else.”

Centurions' squad was further bolstered last week with the capture of 26-year-old forward Richard Beaumont.

The giant prop or second row was with St Helens last season and saw injury keep him out of the side, although he did play four games on dual contract with Rochdale Hornets.

Also joining the former Hull Kingston Rovers man is Ben Reynolds. The 20-year-old has signed a one-year contract from Castleford Tigers and will add to Leigh’s options at fullback and half back.

The Tigers have first refusal on offering him terms for 2016, but Reynolds comes to the Sports Village having jointly won the Kingstone Press League One Young Player of the Year following a notable spell with York City Knights.

A further player, Curtis Johnston, has signed a deal with the club but the former South Sydney and North Sydney wing faces a wait to see whether his VISA application is successful.

Off the field, the club revealed that O2 Leigh have agreed to continue their sponsorship; a move that will again see the company logo appear on the front of playing apparel.

Elsewhere, Centurions will be represented during the town’s Remembrance Day parade on Sunday by staff, directors and players.

They will join the parade and lay a wreath at Leigh Cenotaph in memory of the 13 Leigh players who lost their lives during World War One. The Leigh Centurions Players' Association will also be represented.

The parade will assemble at Marsh Gymnasium, Ullswater Street and Railway Road, at 10.15am, proceeding at 10.30am to the Cenotaph in Church Street Gardens via Railway Road, Market Street, Lord Street, Charles Street and Church Street.

The service at the cenotaph will be conducted by the clergy of Leigh. There will be a return procession at the end of the service, the route to be taken being along Church Street, Vernon Street, Bradshawgate, Market Street and St Mary’s Way to the Town Hall Square, with a salute taken on the square when the parade passes along Market Street.
