Ian Millward: I will endeavour to repay Leigh Centurions

IAN Millward says he is delighted to be afforded the opportunity to return to the club that gave him his first coaching appointment in England.

Speaking from Australia, where he is assistant coach at Canberra Raiders, Millward said: "Leigh gave me a start back in 1999 and I will endeavour to repay the club and its supporters with success in the coming seasons."

"I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Leigh and in Super League and the other reason behind my decision was to be closer to my three children, who still live in England, and to allow my wife Marion to live closer to her parents.”

Millward continued: "I am also appreciative of Canberra Raiders' decision to release me from my current contract at the end of the 2009 season to allow me to take up the Leigh appointment.”
