LEIGH Centurions’ 2012 season will start with a home game against Barrow Raiders in the Northern Rail Cup.
Centurions’ defence of the title will also see them face Pool B fixtures against Sheffield Eagles away, Hunslet Hawks at home and Gateshead Thunder away.
The top four teams in the two pools will progress into an open, unseeded draw for the knockout quarter-final stage in June.
Leigh will get the 2012 Co-operative Championship season underway on Thursday, March 8, when they welcome Batley Bulldogs to Leigh Sports Village in what will be the first Championship game to be broadcast live on Premier Sports.
Nine of Leigh’s 18 league games are currently scheduled for Thursday or Friday nights.
Promoted Swinton Lions will be sharing Leigh Sports Village next season, and they will meet Centurions at the Leigh Sports Village on Good Friday, April 6, and in the final league game on Sunday, September 2.
