LEIGH Genesis juniors are hosting a 3G astroturf event on Saturday.

The event, supported by the Lancashire Football Association and being held at the 3G Astroturf pitches at the Leigh Sports Village, will involve under eights teams from AFC Hindley, Horwich St Mary's, Leigh Genesis Juniors and Ladybridge and Moorside Rangers competing in a set of 10 games from 10am.

The purpose of the event is for Bolton, Bury and District Junior Football League Committee members, club and team officials to familiarise themselves with the advantages of the 3G surface and the LSV venue.

The Football Association is looking to roll out 3G facilities across the country in the coming years but will only do so if clubs and leagues feel that it is beneficial.
