TYLDESLEY could not have a harder start to 2012.
They travel to rugby union’s South Lancashire and Cheshire One runaway leaders Sale on Saturday.
Not even Tyldesley, who are second in the table, have been able to run the ambitious outfit close so far.
Sale won 38-5 at St George’s Park on September 24 and remain undefeated in 14 games, opening up a game of 18 points on their nearest rival.
In the process, they have scored 773 points - even breaking the magic 100 against Winnington Park at the back end of 2011.
It is a tall task for Bongs, even though they are on a fine run of seven wins from their last nine.
Neighbours Leigh return to action at home to Wilmslow on Saturday.
Leigh are currently fifth in the higher North One West division and will need to shake off some rust for the clash with 10th-placed Wilmslow at Hands Lane.
They have not played since December 3, with their last two matches before Christmas falling victim to the weather.
