Watson top for the North team

ASTLEY and Tyldesley Cycle Speedway Club hosted the third round of the One2Call British Women and Girls League on Saturday.

The South and South Wales team easily accounted for a lesser experienced North and Scotland team 72-48.

Locally-based rider Laura Watson was top scorer for the North.

The Individual Grand Prix followed.

Exeter's Lauren Hookway comfortably won the under 15s final, with Horspath (Oxford) rider Rachel Edge winning the open final.

Training sessions continue to be held at the Gin Pit track every Tuesday and Thursday, 7pm start. Newcomers are welcome to attend, with bikes and helmets available for hire.
