Sungs Restaurant has been established since 2008 in what was once the home of the Classic Cinema, this is now a classic of another kind - a restaurant serving some of the best Cantonese and Thai cuisine on Merseyside. Although well known for its mouth-watering buffet lunches and traditional Cantonese atmosphere there is another aspect of Sungs that many people will not be aware of and that is the hidden gem that is to be discovered upstairs in the private function room
Luxuriously laid out and furnished, Sungs function room can hold up 200 people (130/150 can be accommodated in the main restaurant downstairs) and is an ideal venue for a Corporate Event, Business Meeting or any special celebration. The main room has two side rooms for the smaller event or meeting and is equipped with a large screen for corporate presentations and also has disco and karaoke facilities.
A major asset of Sung Restaurant is their Head Chef, Yuen Kei Cheung. Yuen, once of Liverpools Mei Mei restaurant, is renowned in many regions of Hong Kong for his culinary skills and is one of, if not the top, Cantonese chefs in the North West of England. It is to Wirrals, especially Birkenheads, good fortune that Sungs, after a patient three month wait, were able to persuade Yuen to join them at the restaurant.
A Liverpool Business Network organisation recently experienced an event at Sungs function room and their spokesman told us how lucky they were! Yuen had prepared the evenings fayre and all the guests agreed that they had never tasted such an array of delicious Chinese food or seen a so well presented series of dishes. From the opening Hot & Sour Soup, through the mixed delights of Satay Chicken, Spare Ribs, Chicken Wings and several other tasty morsels, to the Lobster cooked in Garlic and Ginger Sauce, the Duck and Pancakes, and, finally, the wonderful Sea Bass, we all enjoyed probably the finest Cantonese meal that any of us had ever had the pleasure of eating.
You can arrange your own tailor-made menu when making a Corporate or Private Celebration booking at Sungs. Your required menu can be agreed to meet with the number of people you wish to invite and how much you would like to pay per head. Just let them know what it is you require, be it for 10 or 300 people, what your budget is and let one of Sungs experienced and professional staff organise everything with you.

Sungs Restaurant is one of the cheapest private function rooms in Birkenhead itself, we have luxurious leather seats, private bar, private buffet and our venue is fit for any special occasion.
We have facilities which can accommodate any occasion for example when there is a wedding we do a slide show for the party.
When you hire the function room you have a choice of style, you can either have a lounge style where you can chill out and listen to the music or you can have the club style where you will have flashing lights, smoke and loud music from our top of the range speakers.
