No one takes notice of signs
11:29am Thursday 14th February 2013 in Letters
THE 20mph signs are a waste of tax payers’ money because nobody takes any notice of them.
I know because I live on a road in Lowton that has them. Also it is access only but it makes no difference. Vehicles come down here like the M6 in a morning. We get loads of vans speeding, some while drivers are drinking tea or on mobiles. There are children going to St Catherine’s school.
When you shout ‘slow down’ you only get abuse. It’s no good putting signs up that nobody adheres to. My five-year-old niece was killed in Sycamore Avenue, Golborne. So let’s not wait for someone to get killed in Bradwell Road before anything is done.
I was a class one driver for 40 years and with a clean licence for 55 years.
I hope something is done before it’s too late, but doubt it.
