In reply to last week’s letter about cyclists riding on the pavement, I have looked in the Highway Code and it states that cyclists who do this should be fined a maximum of £500.
If this was actually enforced for repeat offenders instead of handing them a £30 or £40 fine they would soon stop doing it.
I’ve seen parents having to pull their toddlers out of the way of cyclists on the pavement when they are taking them to school.
I’ve written several letters of complaint about it over the last six months but nothing is being done about it.
