ONCE again the Labour-controlled council plans to hit the most vulnerable people in our society, with the planned closure of day centres.

This is the council that closed Mere Oaks, Two Porches, the Orchard Centre and others claiming it was for the best for the borough and the people affected.

They are not in the real world that’s for sure.

While they propose again to make cutbacks in the name of progress we have a multi-million pound misguided busway being built.

Nobody you talk to really wants it, it seems the Labour Council needs to get its priorities right and for once consider the welfare of the most vulnerable of our society before making rash decisions.

The staff at these present centres are qualified people giving a first class service, and they are specifically trained.

I think they need to think seriously again before these closures, and consider the most vulnerable.
