WHEN I read the item about a tunnel for otters and voles as part of the guided busway project I had to check that the date was not April 1.
I have been interested in wildlife for many years but have never heard of otters in the Leigh area and neither has anyone else I know with similar interests.
Perhaps they could tell me where I can see them and how many there are.
We do have water voles and as the population is declining nationally they deserve all the help we can give them.
I assume that the tunnel is the reason why the top end of The Avenue is closed for 16 weeks which I read in the public notices in the Journal.
I believe that this is an attempt to put a positive spin on a disruptive and deeply unpopular project with an eye-watering price tag.
