WE were inundated with responses following last week’s front page story, ‘Is it time for you to resign?’ Here are some of your letters:

I am disgusted that this man cannot be sacked.

I am sure the people who voted him in are cringing regarding his history. This man needs more help than equal opportunities training.

J Pinion, Lowton

How many chances is this man to be given?

It is the third time he has been subject to a standards hearing this year, he is obviously not learning by his mistakes.

How can he say it is a vendetta against him when he has admitted sending the texts – more likely he didn’t think he would get caught!

Time for him to go!

Disgruntled voter, Tyldesley

How do they get away with it?

Anyone else would be sacked. He should resign.

How people respect anyone who does that? They get to do what they want. I am disgusted.

M White

HOW long have we got to suffer this idiot?

Both myself and my wife don’t earn a great deal but have been told the threshhold for a child starting college this year has been reduced. We won’t be able to receive anything.

This idiot racked up a bill of £2.418.95 which because caught will pay it back.

What, straightaway or over a period of time? People of Tyldesley pay his wages for god’s sake.

Disillusioned resident

I KNEW Robert Bleakley 22 years ago when he was a member of the Liberal Democrats.

He has been involved in local politics for many years, however Robert is his own worst enemy and has been for many years.

It seems that since 2013 Robert has taken leave of his senses and I can understand why Wigan Council has had enough.

I believe Robert’s days in politics are well and truly over and if he has any dignity and sense he should know it is time to call it a day .

Quite frankly Robert has become an embarrassment and I am amazed he continues to be voted in.

He blames everyone bar himself for the stupid things he does, crying out, ‘it’s a vendetta against me’.

Grow up Robert and resign.
