I’M writing to thank those readers who took part in the first bus priority Q&A on Twitter last week.

We planned to hold a one-hour session between 5-6pm and I was more than happy to extend it to 7pm in response to demand.

I hope people found it as useful as I did.

While I replied to as many people as possible, unfortunately there wasn’t time to answer every question.

We have now added a busway frequently asked questions to the news section of our website and I will make sure this is updated as and when new questions come into us.

I will also hold another Twitter session soon, as it is clear that it is a useful way to talk with people about the work that is taking place.

TfGM also has a dedicated bus priority team that is available to answer questions over the phone or by email during office hours Monday to Friday, so the opportunity to speak to us directly is always open.

More information is available at tfgm.com/buspriority. People can email buspriority@tfgm.com or call TfGM on 0300 123 1177.

Finally, I’d like to repeat my sincere apologies to those who have been affected by busway works and resulting traffic.

I am committed alongside my colleagues at Wigan Council and Balfour Beatty to minimise the disruption to local people wherever possible.
