IN REPLY to Jim Stott, Stour Road “We Don’t All Agree”.

Mr Stott, you are correct, we don’t all agree, and I don’t agree with you.

You probably have a vehicle and have never been on a bus.

It’s quite obvious there was going to be upheaval during to guided busway works, as there is with any large scale project.

As for the destruction of land in and around Tyldesley, yes, but it is no more, if not less, than all the housing estates built on green fields.

After all, it is following an old railway line.

If your going to do some moaning, that’s fine – but I didn’t see you on Tyldesley Square on a cold night with the rest of the protesters.

The bus route is going to be a lifeline for many people, old and young who need to commute around the local area, it’s not about trying to get to Manchester. What about people who need to get to Leigh, Atherton and Tyldesley?

There have been no problems with the current diversions last week, maybe that’s because it wasn’t half term, so who you going to blame not “the schools.”

Not everyone has a vehicle they can rely on so the bus route will be a a lifeline for getting about and if I remember rightly it comes with new trees and a bridleway for pedestrians and cyclists for sunny days.

It’s going to be finished this year so keep your chin up and I’ll wave to you from my warm bus.
