DESPITE initial reservations with the new guided busway, the luxury buses are extremely comfortable and the adjoining pathways are a chance for locals to use for recreational means.
However there must be a concern over safety after a bus came off the track recently.
When the buses cross roads and paths they come off the track and then have to re-engage.
Perhaps therein lies the problem and to put safety first, the reduced speed limits need to be made mandatory.
The letter in the Journal from a Labour councillor castigating someone for their views on the busway is extraordinary, and he could well have scored an own goal in the local elections.
Also the presumption that shoppers will want to come to Tyldesley is a little misleading.
We only have a store and three pie shops.
