THIS blackcap bird picture was taken by GP and amateur photographer Paul Richardson.
The 62-year-old from Elmridge is a member of Leigh Ornithological Society and he took the photograph at Pennington Flash last month.
He said: “The blackcap is a small bird with a beautiful, fluting song. Many arrive in the north of England in spring from southern Europe and Africa.
"Even if you don’t see one when you walk in the country park, you are very likely to be hearing them when you enjoy the sound of birdsong on a spring day.
“I’ve always been interested in birds and I’m a hill walker, so I see a lot of them.”
