I WANTED to write and share our story with others.

We decided to celebrate my son’s birthday with a trip to The Loom leisure complex in Leigh on a Sunday afternoon.

We parked in the nearly empty car park, popped into Tesco for the essential snacks and then went to watch the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice film, which was on for three hours.

We then moved to Nando’s to have our family meal.

I was saddened to receive through the post a parking ticket for the car park.

I wrote to the company issuing the ticket to explain that even though we appreciate we did overstay the permitted time the car park wasn’t oversubscribed and we were using three facilities serviced by the car park.

We felt common sense would prevail and the fine would be waived.

So I want to warn other readers about this car park to be cautious when watching a long film and dining afterwards.

We certainly will be using other cinemas in the future.

We cannot afford to mar our celebrations with an additional cost, which is a real shame as we do like to support our local economy.
