I HAVE been a resident of Leigh since 1989 and I want to share my thoughts on a situation which is very close to my heart.

Since 2001 I have practised the peaceful meditation Falun Gong and want to raise awareness of the reported persecution in China.

Due to extreme ideologies of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), itseems that any other form of thought, practice or way of life has been cracked down on.

With the numbers practising Falun Gong near to 100 million, outnumbering CCP members, this seems to be unacceptable to the authorities.

Since 1999 practitioners have reportedly had their lives turned upside down and had friends and family turned against them.

It has been reported that the methods CCP uses is defaming their reputation, torturing them to make them give up Falun Gong and bribery or swindling of money to the point of devastation.

Worse still, new reports have revealed that practitioners are having their organs taken without consent while in prison.

Reports suggest billions of pounds have been made, with estimates of a million people having been murdered for profit.

If the reports are true it is a crime against humanity, surely the crime of the century.
