REGARDING the story in the Journal about the horse sanctuary on Plant Lane in Leigh, I regularly visit the horses with my grandchildren and it is nice to know that someone has taken the initiative to set this up and is caring for these animals.
The land has stood vacant for years and I am surprised that travellers have not set up camp there in the past.
The land has been barren and looked an eyesore in the past and it is nice to have something of interest to look at.
As for the neighbours, who are they? There is no-one close by to this sanctuary.
The home that is situated next to it probably takes residents to look at and stroke the horses, which would be very therapeutic for them.
Hasn’t the Liverpool Roman Catholic Archdiocesan Trustees Incorporated got enough land and money without worrying about a few horses on land that was a mess and untouched for years?
