THIS photograph of a blue butterfly taken by amateur photographer John Jevons is our picture of the week.
The 53-year-old joiner and dad-of-two, of Atherton Road, Hindley, took up the hobby four years ago and mainly snaps wildlife.
He said: “I took this shot the other week while I was in Southport because I thought it was such a beautiful photo opportunity.”
“I have always been fascinated by wildlife as well as photography, so to join both together is really enjoyable for me.
“I take a lot of my photographs at Low Hall nature reserve in Hindley and hope to put together a calendar in the future.
“I may as well do something with all the pictures I have.”
