THIS picture of a robin redbreast was taken by amateur photographer Graham Young at Pennington Flash Country Park.

The granddad-of-six took up the hobby to help him with post-traumatic stress disorder stemming from careers in the Army and prison service.

The 56-year-old, of Hesketh Meadow Lane, Lowton, said: “It really relaxes me and I have started an online photography course now, which is really pushing me to try different things.

“That is how I came to take this shot. I needed close ups and Mr Robin was just sat there when I went to Pennington Flash.

“I am very happy with the shot.

“I take photographs of everything and have a chance to shadow Leigh Centurions’ main photographer next season. I am excited by that prospect.”
