THIS photograph of a butterfly in Atherton Park is our picture of the week.
It was taken by Ian Brown, 43, of Blacksmiths Fold, Atherton, who walks his dog in the park twice a day.
The garden centre manager said: “I go to the park all the time and I am not really one to take pictures, but with all the butterflies in the garden I could not help myself.
“There were quite a few and it was such a lovely sunny day that I just tried to get a good shot.
“A lot of my friends are amateur photographers but I have never really tried.
“I think it turned out quite well considering it was taken on my phone.”
