AS chairman of the Royal British Legion’s Leigh branch I would like to thank everybody who took part in Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday on November 11 and 13.
The school of St Joseph’s and the nursery on the avenue are a credit to both Leigh and the parents.
The turnout for both days was awesome, as always.
It makes me so proud to know there are so many kind-hearted people out there who always show their support via their donations and support on the day.
I salute you all, and many thanks to my team, both new and old members, for a job well done.
The final total for the Poppy Appeal for the Leigh area for 2016 was in excess of £24,000.
