IN a recent letter by me I asked where all the flowers had gone from Bongs Market Square.

I also mentioned a strip of land at the end of our back entry next to Boundary Street.

In a reply from Mike Norris he stated that Wigan Council had confiscated the flower tubs, never to be seen again.

He went on to say that the tubs cost £5,000 each.

I know that I am blind, but come on Michael, the tubs are made of plastic, not marble.

The skip disappeared immediately, only to be replaced at the other end of the entry by another full skip.

It’s the Christmas period – we must be playing musical skips.

Back to the flowers, The flower tubs have returned.

My wife Pat says they look very nice and bring a smile to your face.

Also Ponky’s Park has been replanted.

Thank you Wigan Council, especially in these times of drastic financial cuts by this horrible government.
