WIGAN Council leader Lord Peter Smith should hang his head in shame for saying that the people of Atherton have wasted tax payers’ money in trying to save Formby Hall.
It belongs to us.
Not only has he sanctioned seizing and selling our much-loved buildings but the green land on which to build houses that are not needed in our small villages.
Our green areas are needed for the mental and physical wellbeing of the existing residents.
I think the Labour voters of Atherton should wake up and see what is happening to our village and not allow it to continue, by ousting the party from power.
The Labour Party does not now speak for the working man, so even if you are a committed Labour supporter take a long look at your village and ask yourself ‘is this what you want?’.
