I WOULD like to express my gratitude to all the people who made this year’s remembrance commemorations such a success.
The numbers marching and attending the Tyldesley parade were truly remarkable. So much so that we could hardly accommodate them all at the cenotaph.
We always attempt to surpass the funds raised in the previous Poppy Appeal and I am pleased to announce that we have once again achieved this, raising the incredible sum of £16,867.98.
From myself and the Tyldesley branch of the Royal British Legion, our thanks go to all who allowed our boxes to be displayed, the collectors working in the major stores and especially the generous people of Astley and Tyldesley.
