OVER the past 80 years Tyldesley (Bongs) has been inundated with new housing estates, so much so that what was once a semi-rural district is fast becoming a concrete jungle.

Will the authorities not be happy until it is so? Enough is enough!

Where are our local councillors? There are six of them in Bongs and we have not heard one squeak from them.

It will soon be election time you know.

The two new proposed estates, if built, will change Tyldesley beyond recognition.

Bongs will be a concrete jungle without clay or grass.

Can I educate the authorities by reminding them that man cannot live without a supply of oxygen.

These green spaces, the last in Tyldesley, are our oxygen supply.

These are the green areas that turn the carbon dioxide we breathe out into the oxygen we breathe in.

Leave Tyldesley alone – stop this urbanised vandalism.

If you don’t then I promise that I and others will challenge local councillors at the next election.

Oxygen good, carbon monoxide bad.
